On the occasion, the minister advanced that the new hospital will have a capacity for 200 beds, with various services and specialties.

The official highlighted that the province will have the hemodialysis service for the first time. "In this unit, we will have state-of-the-art, special, better quality equipment that will make it possible for people from the province of Huambo and from the entire national territory to come to this municipality to seek better health services", said the minister, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.

"We are gradually creating conditions so that we can, in our country, treat highly complex diseases", said the holder of the Health portfolio.

Huambo's health system will also be reinforced with the rehabilitation and expansion of the Chillumbo Hospital, medical posts and health centres, to be built under the PIIM.

In addition to these units, Sílvia Lutucuta announced that the province will also have a Mother and Child Hospital.

The minister also said that in recent years the largest public tenders in the sector's history have been held, with the admission of 33,000 new professionals, which represents an increase of around 35 percent. We built, expanded and rehabilitated 85 units at various levels of care, in which the priority was always primary health care, the gateway to the health system", said Sílvia Lutucuta.

During her stay in Huambo, the Minister of Health also visited several works in progress in the sector, including the Municipal Hospital of Ecunha.
