Amilna Estevão shines at the first Haute Couture show at Pyer Moss

After being canceled due to the storm that swept through New York, the Pyer Moss Haute Couture show took place on Saturday, the 10th, with the presence of Angolan supermodel Amilna Estevão.

Chosen by casting director Katherine Mateo and coiffed by Jawara, the Angolan model dazzled in a total white look, says a statement sent to VerAngola.

Brand founder and creator Kerby Jean Raymond is the first African American to be an official guest at Paris Haute Couture. As a black citizen in modern America, he chose Elaine Brown, former president of the Black Panthers—an American political party that emerged to defend the African-American community—for the event's opening address.

Amilna Estevão is part of a generation that has been reformulating the standards and limits of beauty. In late 2019, she was one of the models chosen to be part of the book Supreme Models – Iconic Black Women Who Revolutionized Fashion, which features names like Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks and Joan Smalls.
