According to the order, published in the Official Gazette and cited by Expansão, the President gave the green light to the opening of a simplified contracting procedure by the material criterion that aims to sign a contract with Athena Swis AG.
Budgeted at around US$50 million, plus 14 percent VAT, the contract provides for restoration work, fitting out and supply of equipment for the Luanda Science Center.
According to Expansão, the document justifies this expenditure with the need to finish and equip the center.
The same paper adds that the company Athena Swis AG has existed for less than a year: created in December last year, the entity is located in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. According to the Swiss company registration website this company is part of the Mitrelli Group.
