Jiu-Jitsu: Caio brothers mark their presence at the “Grand Slam” in the UAE

The Angolan brothers Hélio and Heliane Caio will represent the colors of Angola in the “Grand Slam” of Jiu-Jitsu. The athletes headed, on Tuesday night, to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the country where the competition will take place.

In the competition – to be held from the 6th to the 8th of May, in Abu Dhabi – the Caio brothers aim to equal or surpass the one performed in the World Championship last year, writes Angop.

Hélio Caio, 16 years old - who competes in the 55-kilogram category and who practices the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu modality - has won gold in the "President's Cup" and "World Professional" as well as bronze in the World of Nations.

His sister, 14-year-old Heliane Caio, won second place, in the 77-kilogram category, at the Jiu-Jitsu world championship, which took place in November 2021.

In addition, the brothers' performance also helped the national team to win the African Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which took place this year in Luanda.
