According to jurist Manuel Pinheiro, the statements made by the defense of Carlos de São Vicente may have a great impact on the country's reputation.
Cited by VOA Portuguese, the jurist recalled that François Zimeray cannot practice in Angola because he does not have a professional license in the country, but that does not prevent his statements from damaging Angola's image.
"It even impacts the attraction of investments in Angola, a country that does not ensure the fundamental rights of citizens, is immediately a threat to private investment," said the jurist.
"Nobody wants to invest in a territory without legal guarantees," he added.
On the other hand, Agostinho Canando, jurist, the accusation that Carlos de São Vicente is "a scapegoat" may help to find the real culprits: "We cannot consider this just another accusation because this accusation may be calling the attention to a real problem that may appear further ahead or, probably, we are being called to look for the real culprits", he indicated.
The jurist Pedro Kaparakata also agrees with Agostinho Canando's vision. The specialist defends that the entrepreneur "is the manager of the patrimony of the family Agostinho Neto" and underlines that he had already affirmed that Carlos de São Vicente "is only one more scapegoat for the moment that is lived now".
It is reminded that Carlos de São Vicente was arrested in September of last year, being currently in Viana's Prison, Luanda.
