João Lourenço ends his visit to Japan with reinforcement of cooperation between the two countries

The President of the Republic ended his visit to Japan, reinforcing bilateral cooperation ties with the signing of three memorandums, in the area of health and energy, which will consolidate the Japanese presence in the country.

João Lourenço ended his official visit in the city of Kyoto, after visiting Tokyo and Nagoya, the city where three memorandums of understanding were signed between Angolan institutions and the Toyota Tsusho Corporation, according to the Presidency's page on the social network Facebook.

One of the memorandums provides for the construction of systems for capturing groundwater (holes), powered by solar energy, to alleviate the problems of drought in southern Angola, another seeks to donate a vehicle for the refrigerated transport of vaccines, the third provides for the creation of renewable energy supply facilities and water supply systems in the Free Trade Zone of Barra do Dande.

Angola and Japan also signed a letter of intent establishing cooperation in the space domain.

The head of state also participated in the Japan-Angola Business Forum, calling for Japanese investment in Angola, "taking advantage of the current climate of cooperation to transform existing investment opportunities into wealth and prosperity for both peoples and nations".
