He will also meet with Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and visit Nagoya and Kyoto.
The note from Japanese diplomacy highlights "Angola's high economic potential", due to oil and wealth in mineral resources, as well as the partnership with a country with "stable political bases under the presidency of João Lourenço, who was re-elected after democratic elections". .
The Government of Japan hopes that the visit "will strengthen bilateral cooperation", adds the document.
Japan has strongly supported the demining process in Angola and is implementing projects in the sectors of Health, Education, Food Assistance, Telecommunications and Agriculture, with a turnover of around US$50 million in terms of trade.
Among the biggest private projects is the development of the Port of Namibe, being carried out by Toyota Tsusho Corporation, valued at around US$700 million.
Bilateral cooperation between Angola and Japan began in 1988 as Emergency Aid, via the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef).
After the end of the war in the country, in 2002, Japan started to cooperate with Angola in Assistance to Demining Areas, Social Reinsertion of Ex-Soldiers and Reintegration of Refugees, according to the Angop news agency.
This is João Lourenço's first official visit abroad since the beginning of the year, although he participated in the African Union summit held in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and in the Environment week in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The head of state began the year in Brazil, where he attended the inauguration of his counterpart, Lula da Silva, who is expected in Luanda later this semester.
Angola has also received several high-level visits since January, first with the President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, in January, the month also chosen for the visits of Chinese diplomats, Qi Gang, and Russian, Serguei Lavrov.
In February, it was the turn of the Kings of Spain to arrive in the country, on their first visit to sub-Saharan Africa, and, last week, Angola was one of the stages of the African tour of the French President, Emmanuel Macron.
