After three years of absence, Angola hosts Expo-Indústria again

After three years of absence, Expo-Indústria returns to Luanda for its 5th edition, between March 29th and April 1st, with Portugal being one of the countries that has already expressed interest in participating, announced a source from the organisation.

According to Bruno Albernaz, president of the Arena group, the entity that promotes the event, which had been suspended since 2019, the fair had an “exponential” growth until that time, which is expected to continue this year, in the face of increasing industrialization.

"The expectation is for growth of 20 percent compared to the last edition", he said, at a press conference, indicating that there are already around 50 registrations, mainly from the capital and Benguela.

In 2019, in the 4th edition, Expo-Indústria had 220 exhibitors (150 in the 3rd edition), and now expects to reach 270 to 280 participations, said the person in charge of the Arena, indicating that, at an international level, Portugal , Spain, Turkey and South Africa were some of the countries that have already shown interest in being present.

Transformation industry, engineering and civil construction, as well as food industry and agribusiness are some of the expected sectors.

Participation in the fair has a minimum value of 320,000 kwanzas, the price for a 'stand' measuring nine square meters, but this year Expo-Indústria will have special conditions, including a 20 percent discount package for companies that are not from Luanda, in order to support the trip to the capital and make the event "be it national in scope"

Bruno Albernaz underlined that the planned investment for this year is 150 million kwanzas and that Expo-Indústria will also host conferences with "relevant topics on business opportunities".

"We want this event to be the biggest showcase of what the Angolan industry has to show. It is a way for companies to show their potential", said the person in charge of the Arena.

The aim is "to make industries increase employment and improve the living conditions of populations and leverage new partnerships and businesses", he highlighted.

Promoting national industry and the consumption of its products and creating synergies for the industrial sector to assert itself in Angola are other objectives.

Expo-Indústria takes place in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE).
