According to the secretary general of the SJA, Teixeira Cândido, there is not much information available that would allow "having a clearer opinion".
"Our opinion is based on many doubts, on the one hand, information on the reintegration of workers is welcome, it is applauded, on the other hand, there are a number of doubts that arise", said Teixeira Cândido.
The trade unionist said that, in contact with some members of the ZAP board, the information obtained was not "very clear".
"The information showed that they had not fired the workers, it means that the suspension of the channel had not affected, they had ended the contract they had with the workers, which was for a fixed period, this was the information", he said.
However, continued Teixeira Cândido, what the Attorney General's Office says is that it is calling for the replacement of the trustee, because the one who was there fired the workers.
"I don't know if that basis is enough for that, because, in principle, when we're talking about an arrest process, which means that someone is claiming a debt and as they want to have a guarantee that this debt will be paid, then they seize the person's assets who claims a debt, in the expectation that if he wins the action, his asset will be pledged, will be sold and will recover the money he claims from the person", he questioned.
For Teixeira Cândido, "the State does not lose, as the State, on the contrary, sees its good being managed".
"So, there is a set of doubts here, more than answers about this process, the process is not very clear", he indicated.
The secretary general of the SJA underlined that, for the time being, there is no way for ZAP to pass to the sphere of the State, as a judicial process is under way.
"If the court decides in favor of the State, the State is obliged under the law to privatize this medium, it cannot have a monopoly", he stressed, stressing that "the Press Law prohibits any entity, any agent, any citizen, may have a monopoly in the field of television, to safeguard the plurality of information, if the State does not privatize it would be violating the law".
According to Teixeira Cândido, provisionally the State will have custody of ZAP and FINSTAR, but if the State wins this decision in court, "it must urgently privatize, because it cannot have a monopoly".
"We will continue to monitor it to have a firmer position, so that we can see what is happening, because until now there is a complex process, with many gray areas", he said.
Last week, the telecommunications operator Zap announced a gradual process of redundancies following the suspension, in April, of the Zap Viva channel, by determination of the Government, without a "glimpse" date for resuming broadcasts.
In a statement, Zap stresses that it has carried out "the necessary steps to resume issuance in the national territory and despite all efforts, five months later, there is no time horizon for a resolution".
Also Vida TV, another of the channels that the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) forced to suspend, alleging non-conformities, announced the closure in July, leaving more than 300 professionals unemployed.
Without mentioning how many jobs are at stake, Zap announced in the communiqué that it was forced to "carry out various measures to optimize different operational areas", including the human resources assigned to the ZAP Estúdios Unit, responsible for the production of television content, including ZAP Viva.
"This means that ZAP will start a gradual process of restructuring and untying a set of elements of the workforce, scrupulously guaranteeing all the rights of the employees assigned in line with the Angolan legislation in force", said the operator in the same note.
Zap guaranteed that it will implement a support program for each professional covered "with the aim of minimizing the impact on affected families and conducting each process of untying with dignity and respect".
On the 21st of April, the Government suspended the channels Record TV África, ZAP Viva and Vida TV, a measure justified by "legal non-conformities", also suspending the provisional registrations of newspapers, magazines, web pages (site) of news and radio station with no effective activity in the last two years, the list of which has never been released.
In the case of Record TV África, owned by the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (IURD) involved in several controversies and legal proceedings in Angola, MINTTICS alleged that the company had a foreign citizen as its executive director, as well as foreign journalists who were not accredited. nor accredited by the Aníbal de Melo Press Center.
