The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace and featured an assessment of the recently completed International Monetary Fund (IMF) assistance program to the country and debates around poverty, measures for reconverting the informal economy and solid waste management.
Regarding the IMF's action, the advisers of the Head of State got in touch with a summary report of the three years of assistance from that international financial body, presented by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior.
According to a statement to which VerAngola had access, in reaction, the group of advisers for socio-economic issues praised the performance of the Executive and encouraged the Head of State and his team to use the macroeconomic stability achieved at the end of this time as a point of starting point for the country's growth, with activity that is reflected in the real economy, for the benefit of families and companies.
On multidimensional poverty and environmental sustainability, with emphasis on solid waste management, two studies were presented by teams from the Economic and Social Council and which the Executive welcomed as "excellent contributions", according to President João Lourenço.
"We are reaping the fruits of the existence of the Economic and Social Council and its work. It is only a pity that the body was created very late, practically at the end of the mandate", commented the Head of State, satisfied with the two studies presented at the meeting. .
