In a statement sent to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), NOS informs that "in a meeting of the board of directors held today [Monday], Mr. Ângelo Gabriel Ribeirinho dos Santos Paupério was elected chairman of the company's board of directors".

Ângelo Paupério joined Sonae about 30 years ago, went through the various companies of the group - from distribution to communications - and in 2015 was chosen by Belmiro de Azevedo to succeed him, with his son Paulo Azevedo.

For three years, Sonae had a bipartite leadership, between Paulo Azevedo and Ângelo Paupério, until the two expressed their desire to pass on the testimony of their executive roles, already after Belmiro de Azevedo's death in November 2017.

The choice then fell on Cláudia Azevedo, daughter of Belmiro de Azevedo, who remains in office.

On Thursday, the three non-executive directors of NOS connected to the businesswoman Isabel dos Santos, among whom the Chairman of the board of directors, Jorge Brito Pereira, resigned from their positions, disclosed the telecommunications operator.

On Friday, Brito Pereira announced the departure of the law firm Uria Menéndez Proença de Carvalho, the suspension of the professional activity as a lawyer and, as a consequence, of the "legal representation" to Isabel dos Santos.
